Dear Visitor, Happy New Year and welcome to your January issue of Rock News.

MONTHLY REVIEW

BRIDGFORD SERVICES: A jam-packed festive month at The Rock this month.  It was so good to have Simon Taylor back preaching on a Sunday along with Israel and our Pastors.  As a church we love to honour people and this month we blessed the fabulous Lena Tennick for all she does.  Our Carol Service took place in the evening with carols led by Lawrence and the Flatman girls.  The Candleby Lane School choir came and sang three songs, doing a sterling job led by their choir master Devon.  As a church we have blessed the choir with money this year so they could perform at a concert in London, so it was good to have them come and sing with us. The evening wrapped up with a short message from Kate Kent before having mince pies, mulled wine and Santa.  Wow what a month !!

BEER AND CAROLS: The Rock descended on The Meadow Covert Pub for Beer and Carols.  Lawrence led the pub in a rousing set of carols with Ali bringing some festive tunes in between.  Some of the church met for a meal together before hand before being joined by others for the singing.

CHRISTMAS PANTO: After the success of last year's panto in Cotgrave we decided to repeat this amazing outreach to the community, not only to Cotgrave but also West Bridgford.  Over 250 people came to the two showings of Treasure Island by Chaplins Theatre Company, at Cotgrave in the morning and at West Bridgford in the afternoon.  A team provided popcorn, sweets and drinks before the panto kicked off.  It was a fabulous day with relationships being built with many from the local community.

KEYWORTH SERVICE: The second service took place at the beginning of the month in Keyworth.  There was another great turnout from The Rock along with a few more locals.  Israel shared his testimony, with Ali leading and James leading everyone into a time of worship.

CHICKS LETS BE: The ladies had their last meeting of 2018, coming together to eat a tasty chilli and puddings together, before hearing from some of out newest members in a little getting to know you interview with Lynne Tan.  They also had lots of laughs with a game of pass the parcel and a Christmas quiz.
