Welcome to Kidz Klub!
On this page you will find all you need to know about Kidz Klub. If we've missed anything, just get in touch.
What is Kidz Klub in a nutshell?
Kidz Klub is a national model of a 'faith based education and entertainment children's club' that is being adopted locally by The Rock Church.
It's designed to be 75 minutes of safe, structured activities that kids talk about all week!
Who can come?
Anyone at primary school (aged 4-11). Younger children are welcome to come if supervised by a parent/carer (we have some age appropriate activities to help keep them entertained).
As a parent you are welcome to come and sit in on a session to see exactly what it's like or you can hang around in our 'parents lounge' and enjoy a coffee (where there is also a live link to the kid's event).
What happens at Kidz Klub?
In a typical Kidz Klub you are likely to find the following:
Supervised free time - In a party atmosphere a range of games and activities are available for all to get involved in. Members of our team take part and encourage participation from everyone making sure no one is left sidelined.
Discipline - Even though parts of Kidz Klub can look like mayhem at times, its all organised and all the children are given clear rules to help maintain discipline.
Action songs - Our hosts lead the kids in some fun action songs - sometimes faith based and sometimes secular.
Games - What kid doesn't like to play games? There's plenty of opportunity to get involved in exciting, fun games at Kidz Klub. And some that are really messy!
Competition - We encourage healthy competition each night between boys and girls to help reinforce the importance of team work and to bring a sense of achievement. This is in place from start to finish with the boys team and the girls winning points for their respective teams not just for winning games, but for other things like being best behaved.
Teaching - Each week has a theme running throughout it and this is reinforced through a Bible based story or teaching. Whether its 'honouring parents', 'speaking positively', 'telling the truth' or 'looking out for one another'.
Prayer - Children are encouraged to bring their prayer requests to the front (and once vetted, to make sure they are appropriate) our hosts will encourage them to pray or pray for them in an appropriate manner.
Prizes - Children are rewarded at the end of each week for different things, whether its winning a game, trying their best or any other special contribution.
Who is looking after my kids?
Kidz Klub only happens the way it does thanks to a team of dedicated volunteers who have your children's best interests at heart.
These are mainly people from the church but parents/carers are welcome to apply to be on team.
All key leaders interacting with children are DBS checked and we follow the Church's safeguarding policy which is availabel to anyone upon request.
When and where is it?
Kidz Klub will take place at The Rock Hub on Wellin Lane.
We recently did a pre-launch Christmas party and our first Kidz Klub will be taking place on Friday 12th January.
The Rock Church have committed to a 3 month trial of Kidz Klub every Friday night, so do get involved to make sure we give ourselves every chance of continuing after that.
Doors will open at 3.30pm each week so children can come straight from school if that is more practical. The programme starts at 4pm and ends at 5.15pm promptly.
Children's safety is paramount to us, therefore its imperative that we have a completed parental consent form (see below) for each child and that they are both sgned in and out at every event.
Is there more to Kidz Klub?
The model of Kidz Klub involves both schools/community work as well as maintaining and developing relationships with you, the parent/carer, making sure that your child is having the best experience they can with us.
These areas will be developed more and more as time goes on and resources enable us.
